Abstract:
The article discusses the relevance and implementation of social networking by human resource (HR) professionals in business enterprises. It states that the relevance of social networking is increasing, while its capability to produce business value is recognized. It mentions that social networking provides an opportunity to bring a sense of community in employees. It adds that referrals, alumni and interest groups can be considered when producing an internal social network among employees. Moreover, it cites that implementation of internal social network requires basic training for employees on how social networking will be utilized within the company. It notes that monitoring of an internal network is needed to prevent possible disclosure of confidential information.
